Walking around Basel, I came across Bergli Books, an English bookstore in the heart of the old city. It has a great selection of books and a welcoming atmosphere. I plan on going back – and not just to buy books. I’m eager to attend some of their events; in particular, the Swiss Cookie celebration on October 29th sounds delicious.
While I still plan on reading the copy of Jenseits von Eden, the classic Steinbeck Roman I picked up at a local German bookstore in Lörrach, it’s nice to know if I want some English reading material I don’t need to fly to London to get it!
